The Here and Now // 01.29.16

One of the reasons I blog is to have a reminder of the normal, everyday things I do each week, as well as the things I’m currently enjoying. While there will always be fantastic trips and exciting projects, the little things are what make the day-to-day exciting, and those are the things I don’t want to forget! Every Friday, I’m giving you a peak into the song I’ve been jamming to, the books I’m reading, and anything else that’s been making my heart happy that week.

Anyone else feel like this Friday took forever to get here? Maybe it’s because I’ve been fighting a cold, but this has been the longest  week ! I’ve been really busy at work, so its been nice to unwind in the evenings by holing up in bed with Netflix.

Looks

me and my new boots Cheesing  just because I love my new boots (you can get them here!) and I was waiting for my coworker outside the bank. But for real, these boots are insanely comfortable. I can already see them becoming a regular in my closet.

Cravings

Blue Star Donut InteriorDid you see the post I put up a few weeks ago about what to eat in Portland? I’ve been reminiscing about the delicious food and beer and basically I just want more Blue Star Donuts. Also, tell me this is not the cutest sign ever. Where my social media gurus at?!

Other Favourites

  • This song. Spotify came through again, introducing me to this song on my Discover Weekly playlist. It’s been on repeat since mid-week.
  • When I’m not listening to Old Daisy, I’m listening to the Coffee With Crachel podcast. Their sense of humor is so similar to mine, and honestly I just enjoy listening to two people talking about life. I also listen to the Men in Blazers podcast, which I also recommend if the EPL/soccer is your thing.  If you have any good pod recommendations, please let me know in the comments!
  • I’ve been sick in bed a lot over the past few weeks, so I’ve been  watching quite a bit of Netflix. I finally finished Parenthood (cried EVERYWHERE) and moved on to Mysteries of Laura. So far so good!
  • This quote: ““She wasn’t a person to whom things happen. She did all the happenings.” -Muriel Spark

This weekend I’m going up into LA to go to Free Museum Day! I’m sure there will also be plenty of eating as well! What are you up to?

And then months down the road, when you think you’ve cried it all out, you will think about Parenthood, and you will still cry EVERYWHERE. :)
